Book a Free Discovery CallWhat Jura Labs Offers
All engagements are scoped to your organisation's needs and budget. Jura Labs reserves time each quarter for organisations that genuinely cannot afford commercial rates. If your work is impactful and you have no budget, get in touch anyway.
The same technical depth that goes into building ROOTED and Jura Trace is behind the advisory work. Independent, vendor-neutral, and grounded in 25 years of sector experience. Every pound earned funds the free tools. Jura Labs is a Community Interest Company: no shareholders, no private extraction.
All engagements start with a free 30-minute discovery call. No obligation, no sales pitch.
Technical Product Stewardship
Fractional CTO for organisations without an in-house technology lead.
Jura Labs acts as your technical lead: reviewing vendor proposals, joining agency standups, providing written feedback on architecture decisions, and being available for ad-hoc calls. Built production systems for ActionAid International, the NHS, and Bliss.
Suited to: Charities with a grant-funded project but no technical director. Public-sector teams managing external developers.
From £2,400 / €2,825 per month (1 day per week, flexible). Also available at the half-day advisory rate.
AI Readiness Assessment
Before adopting AI, understand where you actually stand.
77% of UK charities now use AI tools, but only 16% have a formal policy for it. Jura Labs provides a structured, honest assessment: where AI can genuinely help, where the risks sit, and what you need to do before adopting anything. Not a sales pitch. An independent evaluation.
Deliverable: Red/Amber/Green risk report, data governance review, roadmap, and a board-level / senior management presentation. Project duration typically 3 to 6 weeks.
Scope depends on organisational complexity.
Technology Stack Audit
Know what you are paying for, where your data actually lives, and what happens if a platform changes the rules.
Most charities and non-profits run on a patchwork of SaaS tools adopted over years without a strategic review. Subscription costs creep upward. Redundant tools that nobody uses any more still bill quietly every month. Data sits in US-hosted platforms where the CLOUD Act allows US authorities to demand access regardless of where the data is physically stored. Terms of service change without notice.
Jura Labs audits your entire technology stack: what each tool costs, where it stores data, what jurisdiction governs it, what happens if the vendor is acquired or changes terms, and whether ethical, EU-hosted, or open-source alternatives exist that do the same job for less.
Deliverable: Full stack map with annual costs, data sovereignty assessment, risk register (platform volatility, vendor lock-in, GDPR exposure), and a prioritised migration plan with alternative recommendations.
£2,000 to £4,000 / €2,350 to €4,700. Suited to any organisation that has not reviewed its technology stack in the past two years. Particularly relevant for charities handling beneficiary data on US-hosted platforms, or organisations concerned about big tech dependency.

Track Record
Carbon Reporting at Scale
Designed and scaled the world's largest carbon calculator, Creative Climate Tools, for the cultural sector at Julie's Bicycle, used by over 2,000 organisations.
Global Digital Communications
Led digital strategy across ActionAid International's federation of 40+ country programmes, designing communications infrastructure for teams working in complex, low-resource environments.
Public Health and Palliative Care
Launched the UK's first national digital service for people with life-limiting conditions. NHS-funded. Digitalised the Baby Charter accreditation programme at Bliss, supporting neonatal units across the UK.
International Development and Peacebuilding
Designed and delivered the complete technology platform for the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre in Vietnam, serving 140 international aid agencies including UN, Oxfam, and EU delegations. CRM, web publishing, and sector communications built entirely on open source at zero licensing cost. Earlier work at International Alert, developing digital communications tools and full stack infrastructure for peacebuilding programmes in conflict-affected regions.
From Server Rooms to Strategy
Before any of this: enterprise IT. Building and maintaining servers in a managed data centre, configuring network infrastructure, and providing frontline support across education, legal, insurance, and banking. Twenty-five years later, that hands-on background still shapes how Jura Labs approaches every recommendation. The advice starts from how things actually work, not how a slide deck says they should.
If any of this sounds relevant to your organisation, book a free discovery call. Thirty minutes, no obligation, and a clear sense of whether Jura Labs can help.
